IEC group


The Research Group “Electrochemical Engineering and Corrosion (IEC)” has a long experience in the Electrochemical Engineering and in the Corrosion Area.


The group has been awarded by the Valencian Government as Research Group of Excellence PROMETEO 2014-2017 (PROMETEOII/2014/009) and PROMETEO 2010-2013 (PROMETEO/2010/039). The objective of this finance programme is the promotion of high quality research and excellence through the development of outstanding research actions. The awarded groups have certified their high level and competitiveness for the national and international scientific community.


Moreover, the IEC group belongs to the Excellence Network Environmental and Energetic Applications of the Electrochemical Tecnology (E3TECH)


 

Main research lines of the group:

· Study of hydrogen generation on the surface of different metals and alloys in conditions of high temperature and high concentration

· Corrosion Studies in real time of highly alloyed stainless steels at high temperatures

· Influence of cavitation on the corrosion behaviour of different alloys

· Studies of the corrosion-erosion in a hydrodynamic circuit

· Studies of the heat treatment influence on the corrosion behaviour

· Biocorrosion-Biotribocorrosion

· Study of the PEM Fuel Cell

· Hydrogen Electrolytic Production

· Effluent treatment by means of electrocoagulation

· Ion exchange membranes

· Metals recovery by electrochemical techniques

· Advanced oxidation electrochemical processes
