Line 3. Influence of cavitation on the corrosion behaviour of different alloys
The main objective of this line is to study the corrosion behaviour of different alloys and the modification of the electrochemical factors of different alloys in different solutions under static (without cavitation) and dynamic conditions (with cavitation).
The results demonstrate that cavitation affects to: the cathodic reaction (reduction of the solution) and the anodic reaction (oxidation of the metal, passivation and repassivation, pitting of the alloy, etc.). Using a Laser Confocal Scanning microscopy, the damage occasioned by cavitation on the surface of the alloy has been quantified.
