Line 5. Studies of the heat treatment influence on the corrosion behaviour
The aim of these studies is the evaluation of the heat treatment conditions (duration, temperature range, environment…) on the corrosion behaviour of metals. In order to evaluate the changes in materials as a consequence of a heat treatment, the samples are characterized prior to and after of the heat treatment by different techniques (optical microscopy, SEM, EDX…). Later, the corrosion behaviour of the material is studied by different electrochemical techniques and these results are related with the observed changes in the materials. Recently, a laser confocal scanning microscopy with heating stage has been acquired. This device allows the in-situ observation of the material changes during the heat treatment.
