Line 8. Treatment of concentrated effluents by evaporation
Concentrated effluents from industrial areas or membrane treatment contain different substances in their composition that may have significant added value or that are difficult to eliminate and require treatment prior to discharge.
Since 2000, work has been carried out on the recovery of salts from concentrated saline effluents, both from the ham manufacturing industry, the manufacturing of matches and from seawater desalination plants. The system developed is based on Assisted Natural Evaporation (ANE) and represents an effective and low energy cost alternative to evaporation in ponds or with heat input from an external source.
The system uses low-cost absorbent materials on which the precipitation/crystallization of the salts present in the effluent occurs, which can subsequently be used in another industrial process in line with the circular economy policy or managed by an authorized manager.
